Datenschutz.
How we handle personal data on this site, in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, in force since September 2023) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller
Gud GmbH, Kirchenfeldstrasse 52A, 3005 Bern, Switzerland — reachable at hello@gud.ch.
What we collect, and why
We try to collect as little as is workable. In practice that means three things:
1. Server logs. When you visit gud.ch, our hosting provider records the request (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referring page, user-agent string). These logs are kept for up to thirty days for security and debugging, then deleted.
2. The contact form. If you write to us through the form on this site, we receive your name, your email, and your message, plus any further detail you choose to share. We use that information solely to reply to you. We retain correspondence for as long as the conversation is alive, and for up to twenty-four months afterwards.
3. Email. If you write to hello@gud.ch directly, we hold that correspondence under the same retention rule as the form.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service provided by Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC, to understand how this site is used in aggregate — pages viewed, rough device type, approximate location at country level. GA4 sets cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) and may transfer personal data to Google LLC in the United States. We have configured IP anonymisation and run with consent denied by default; the analytics scripts only load once you click Accept on the banner.
The legal basis for this processing is your consent under Art. 6 nFADP (and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where applicable). The transfer to the United States is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision (Google LLC is certified). You can withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the site footer; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Google's own privacy notice is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
What we do not do
We do not run third-party advertising, behavioural retargeting, cross-site profiling, or A/B testing on this site. We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not subscribe you to anything you didn't ask for.
Cookies and local storage
We use as little client-side storage as we can. Specifically:
Strictly necessary. Your theme preference (light/dark) and your cookie-banner choice are stored in your browser's localStorage under the keys gud-theme and gud-consent. These are not transmitted to our server, contain no personal information, and persist until you clear your browser storage.
Analytics (with consent). If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 sets the cookies described in the section above.
No other cookies are set by this site.
Hosting and processors
The site is hosted on infrastructure inside the European Union (Hostinger International Ltd.). Where we engage a sub-processor — for example, Google Workspace for the contact form's transactional email, or Google LLC for analytics — that processor is bound by a data processing agreement to handle data only on our behalf and only for the purposes set out here.
Your rights
Under Swiss data protection law you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and — where applicable — to object to its processing or to withdraw your consent. Write to hello@gud.ch and we'll respond within thirty days, free of charge.
Complaints
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Berne.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top of the page is the date of the last revision; older revisions are kept on request.
